Job Summary

Campus Dining Services at CU Boulder encourages applicationsfor an Equipment Operator I! This role is primarilyresponsible for receiving and delivering food, beverage, furniture,equipment, fixtures and other while ensuring proper safe handlingof items in transit. This includes operating Campus Dining Servicesvehicles daily such as two-axle vans and trucks, as well aswarehouse equipment such as fork lifts and pallet jacks.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Loading and Unloading:

  • Separate, select, and transport food service items, furniture,fixtures and/or equipment for safe, timely, daily delivery to CDSunits via appropriate transportation method.
  • Unload the truck ensures that authorized personnel receives andsigns for the delivery.
  • Deliver items to designated storage areas, and maintain a dailytravel log summary to be provided to supervisor.
  • Assist with special functions, including delivery of goods andset-up of equipment, tents, cabinets, grills, and other items asneeded.

Receiving and Storage:

  • Ensure that all shipments received are accurate, free ofdamage, and temperature controlled when required.
  • Coordinate, prioritize and adjust daily receiving activities toensure products are stored in a timely manner.
  • Assists in inventory of goods, products and supplies.
  • Complete any last minute change requests.

Equipment Care and Maintenance:

  • Maintain proper fluid levels in the truck as well as checkvehicle safety; report to supervisor if repairs are needed.
  • Ensure that all vehicles, loading dock, and parking lot areclean and orderly.

Other duties as assigned:

  • Assist other departments to cover production and packagingneeds, vacation and/or unscheduled emergency deliveries.

What We Require

  • Successful completion of University of Colorado's SafetyTraining Program within 90 days of employment to operate vehiclesrequired for the position.
  • Servsafe certified and or certificate appropriate for theposition level or the ability to obtain Servsafe certification orcertificate appropriate to position level within 6 months ofhire.
  • Must possess appropriate Servsafe certification or certificateappropriate to position level for the duration of employment withCDS.

What You Will Need

  • Ability to work in extreme cold conditions for extended periodsof time (PPE provided).
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • One year of food storage and/or transportation experience.
  • Previous experience with warehousing, handling, shipping,receiving, storing, inventory, and/or distribution of foodproducts.
  • Previous driving and delivery experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of the flow of food service from purchasingto, ready to prepare state.
  • Previous experience with food storage temperature control.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
