Overall, Though Sand Castle punches above its weight with a strong screenplay, sadly ends up looking like a B grade movie with a high quality screenplay. One thing that puzzles me is this film was rated "R". With the exception of a couple four letter words (unless I'm forgetting something) this film was very tame. Again something to think about when violence and some sexual situations can get a PG-13. If you accept The Castle for what it is, it is entertaining.
