Don't think too much about it, really Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - TV Tropes Forum (2)

As multiple tier 7 Starter raids have shown us again and again, they won't be that "over prepared", so that players can still beat them. Like, people were worried about Emboar's coverage, turns out Emboar just has three STAB moves + head smash.

I was kind of hoping Sceptile would be something other then Tera Dragon, but I suppose its movepool limits their options. At least since they seem unwilling to use the move designed to make sure (almost) all Tera Types can have a STAB move.

Actually, I'm curious... Do competitive players use Tera Blast either?

Sceptile's movepool isn't that shallow where the choice was limited to Dragon.

Can't say how common it is in VGC, but I can recall a few Pokemon that had it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - TV Tropes Forum (5)Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - TV Tropes Forum (6) That's pretty why I'm now generally at the point of "wait and see" as opposed to trying to prep something beforehand. Though I think examples like Meganium provided a bit of a curve ball.

I got curious about what Tera types haven't been used by an Unrivaled Pokemon yet, and I think Dark is the only one left?

Unless they decided to do one with Stellar, too.

Missed getting Emboar due to coming down with COVID-19 the same weekend the raid happened.

I felt sh*tty enough that I didn't even want to touch my Switch. Oh well.

I'm gonna try a Nuzlocke run in Violet starting in July.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - TV Tropes Forum (11)I would not recommended it, as it's too open world so you'll need to make modifications to the nuzlock rules, like how I did when I attempted it.

I got curious about what Tera types haven't been used by an Unrivaled Pokemon yet, and I think Dark is the only one left?

That would be correct. As of now, the Tera Type distribution of the Mighty/Unrivaled Raids are as follows:

Normal: Eevee, Rillaboom
Fighting: Cinderace
Flying: Blaziken, Decidueye
Poison: Swampert, Greninja
Ground: Venusaur
Rock: Chesnaught
Bug: Samurott
Ghost: Typhlosion
Steel: Blastoise
Fire: Hisuian Typhlosion
Water: Pikachu, Hisuian Samurott
Grass: Hisuian Decidueye
Electric: Emboar
Psychic: Mewtwo, Meganium
Ice: Empoleon, Inteleon, Iron Bundle
Dragon: Charizard, Sceptile
Fairy: Delphox, Primarina

Right now, I'd say that Incineroar is the most likely to have the Dark Tera Type, considering Mighty Decidueye's Tera Type is its pre-evolutions' secondary type, while Mighty Primarina's is its secondary type (as Popplio and Brionne were both pure Water types).

Serperior might gonna be Dark as well, since, you know, it's a snake. And it has access to Knock Off.

I feel like a Serperior raid would be built around Contrary boosting, so it might just be Tera Grass to make Leaf Storm hit harder.

Doesn't matter when you have a ai with intimidate and a ghost ape with a doom soundtrack blaring because riping and tearing is all they known and anytime the Sceptile used Breaking Swipe it just makes the ape stronger and the music a little louder.

I still remember the first Charizard the Unrivaled raid where I saw quite a few Azumarills, Syvleons, and Flutter Manes being used.

That raid actually inspired me to try Azumarill in raids against anything weak to Fairy-type.

Lmao, physical Sceptile.

I think most people expected things like Energy Ball, Dragon Pulse, and Focus Blast, not Leaf Blade, Dragon Dance, and Earthquake Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - TV Tropes Forum (31)

Considered it, but mainly due to expecting Sword Dance.

I would put Leaf Blade on Sceptile, but that's because it's the signature.

Yeah, it's not playing to it's strength (it's special attack) but it's the signature. You gotta have the signature.

Also, I'd use Dragon breath over Dragon Pulse. Pulse is stronger, but Dragonbreath can paralyze. That could be useful.

But then again, I'm nuts, so what do I know.

The good thing about Physical raids is the AI partners with Intimidate.
