Severus watched her practically skip out of the classroom, his heart was pounding in his chest as he watched her go. He knew she would be returning in a few hours times but it still felt to long. Running his hands over his face he realized he needed to speak with Albus again as this new aspect of their relationship changed many things. Grabbing his pack of cigarettes he slipped out into the hallway, making his way he came face to face with Dolores.
“Oh Severus, would you mind walking with me?” Dolores asked
“Of course” Severus said sighing internally
“I have heard from many members at the ministry that you are a upstanding professor” Dolores said as they walked
“Thank you, that is high praise coming from one such as your self” Severus said lying through his teeth
“No need to butter me up Severus. Now do I have your support in all aspects of the school that may change this year?” Dolores asked as they came to a stop in front of her office
“Of course. You have my full support. Will there be many changes?” Severus asked now intrigued
“Yes there will be changes. Now I was told by Lucius that you need to leave the school at points for important meetings with him. Is that true?” Dolores asked watching him
“That is true. Lucius is my oldest friend and he values my opinion in many things” Severus explained
“Very good. When you see him next give him my regards” Dolores said before slipping into her office
Severus watched the door close as he turned on his heel making his way towards Albus’s office, he hated that women already but he knew he needed to be on her good side. Five minutes later he was standing at the gargoyles before the stairs began to move, stepping on he made his way towards the door. Not bothering to knock he stepped inside, Albus sat there watching him a smile on his face.
“Why do you look so happy?” Severus asked confused
“Because you walked in as though today has been the best day in your life. Which means your relationship with Miss Granger has changed” Albus said smiling as he puffed away on his pipe
“I well yes. Yes it did” Severus said planting himself in a chair before lighting a cigarette
“Good, everything is happening when it is suppose to” Albus said smiling
“You confuse me” Severus said shaking his head
“That is fine, now what can I do for you today?” Albus asked
“That paperwork that I gave you for her pre apprenticeship program, has it been dealt with? Now that our relationship has changed that paperwork is needed even more” Severus stated exhaling a large puff of smoke
“You are in luck, the paperwork has been approved. All but one member of the board signed, which is fine. We only needed half the signatures to be approved” Albus stated handing his the paperwork
“Let me guess, Lucius was the one who did not sign?” Severus asked taking the paperwork
“You are correct. Now are you actually going to have her train under you or will it just be a facade?” Albus inquired
“That I do not know. I am fine either way, it is up to her” Severus stated
“Very well. I am happy for you, you deserve to be happy” Albus said
Severus watched him for a moments before nodding, standing without a word he made his way out of the room and back towards his office. Hermione practically ran through the hallways, she was beyond excited and her heart was still pounding in her chest. Running into the common room she found the boys sitting at the large table their homework before them for once.
“You took a while” Harry stated
“Sorry I had to speak with Professor Snape in regards to that letter” Hermione stated
“What did the bat say?” Ron asked rolling his eyes
“He is not a bat. And he stated that the ministry does not make mistakes and if I received this letter I am of age” Hermione said making up what Severus said
“So you are a legal witch already?” Ginny asked coming up behind her
“I am” Hermione said blushing
“How?” Ginny asked intrigued
“The time turner” Hermione said softly
“Ah, that is a good thing isn’t it?” Ginny asked looking at her knowingly
“Very. Can we go to one of our rooms?” Hermione asked
“I am taking Hermione, bye” Ginny said grabbing her hand and pulling her towards her room
Hermione could hardly keep up as Ginny pulled her into her room, there was no other students inside which made Hermione happy about. Ginny pushed her down onto her bed as she sat on her neighbors, she watched her for a moment before grinning ear to ear.
“So did you kiss him?” Ginny asked
“I did” Hermione said softly
“And? Was it good?” Ginny asked again
“So good, Ginny you would be surprised how kind he is to me” Hermione said blushing again
“I am surprised with the whole thing but you are happy that is all that matters. So what is happening between the two of you?” Ginny asked
“I asked him out. And he said yes” Hermione said smiling
“Yes!” Ginny squealed
“You cannot tell anyone though” Hermione said as she heard the door opening
“I won’t, here is your present” Ginny said summoning a wrapped book
Hermione laughed as another fourth year student walked in, they did not question having Hermione in the room as it had happened before. Hermione smiled as she opened the book, she found a old second hand book on the history of the dark arts.
“I am sorry it is not new” Ginny said softly
“No do not be sorry, this is perfect. The older and more beat up the better” Hermione said truthfully
“Really?” Ginny asked surprised
“Really. New books are great but old books come with another story one of which we may never know about” Hermione said standing and pulling Ginny into a hug
Dinner came soon, a single cupcake with a candle appeared in front of her when the dessert’s appeared. Hermione smiled, she still hated that it was House elf’s making the food and being enslaved but she had learned she could not do what she was doing the year before. Instead when she was done school she was going to fight for their rights, and the rights of those who do not have a say in the they are treated in the wizarding world. Hermione made a wish before blowing out the candle, soon the plates were disappearing as she bid the boys a goodbye before making her way towards Severus’s office.
“And where do you think you are going? This is not the way to your common room” Dolores stated behind her
“I am off to meet with Professor Snape ma’am” Hermione said hating the women
“And why would you be meeting with him? He is not your head of house” Dolores said watching her closely
“I am doing a pre-apprenticeship program with him ma’am” Hermione explained
“I do not believe you. That has not been done in years. Come with me” Dolores stated as Hermione followed her
Hermione followed her closely, they were making their way towards Severus’s office. She was glad they had come up with this idea and she hoped the paperwork was ready. She watched as Professor Umbridge knocked on his door before letting herself in.
“Dolores and Miss Granger, what can I do for you?” Severus asked surprised
“I caught Miss Granger sneaking around down here. She states she has a pre-apprenticeship with you. But that is absurd that is only given to top students and I did not think you did that” Dolores stated
“She is telling the truth. Miss Granger here petitioned the headmaster to have the chance at a pre-apprenticeship with me. Tonight is the first meeting, here is the paperwork from the board” Severus explained handing the paperwork over
“Well then. Good night to you then” Dolores said reading the paperwork before handing it back and walking out of the room
“Now Miss Granger, sit and we shall go over the information you will be needing for this process” Severus said walking towards the door and opening it and looking out before closing it and warding it
“That was fun” Hermione said shaking her head and standing
“I am glad I got the paperwork from Albus today” Severus said walking towards her
“Agreed. Now I can do this” Hermione said meeting him
Severus smirked as Hermione grabbed his coat with one hand as she pulled him down as she slipped her other hand into his hair before kissing him once more. Severus enjoyed how forward Hermione was, she took what she wanted when she wanted it. Grabbing her by the waist he picked her up before planting her on his desk, her other hand slipped from his coat and threaded it through his hair. Severus tried not to moan but it came out as he felt her nails scrape along her scalp. Severus pulled back as Hermione placed her forehead on his.
“I could do that over and over again” Hermione stated
“Agreed but I wish to give you your birthday present” Severus said smiling
“You did not need to get me anything” Hermione said shaking her head
“Well I did. It is not every year that you turn seventeen. So here” Severus stated handing her a small black box
Hermione shook her head as she took the small box, opening it she found a set of beautiful earrings. Holding them up she found them to be the brightest blue sapphire set in white gold. Looking at Severus her heart pounded in her chest as she placed them down for a moment before taking out her plain earrings and slipped the new ones in.
“Severus those are beautiful, but so expensive” Hermione said worried
“Not at all. Nothing is to expensive for you” Severus said smiling
“You are going to spend a lot on me in this relationship aren’t you?” Hermione asked shaking her head
“I have already for five years and will continue to yes” Severus said smiling
“Is there a reason you got me sapphires?” Hermione asked intrigued
“Yes actually. In wizarding custom when a wizard turns seventeen he is given a gold pocket watch as a present. Now not as widely used custom other then in the oldest families is when a witch turns seventeen she is given a piece of jewelry that holds her birthstone inside of it. Now I could have given you a necklace but I feel as though you still wear the one I gave you last Christmas. A ring would be to soon, a bracelet would have worked but I feel as though that would get in your way. So instead earrings became the item I wished to give you. Do you like them?” Severus asked nervously
“I love them, and love them even more because you gave me them” Hermione said softly
“Good. Now what would you like to do?” Severus asked
“You” Hermione said cheekily
“Hermione!” Severus said surprised
“Oh hush you. You know it will happen in time, I just wanted to see your reaction” Hermione said smirking
“I well, yes in time. I will never push you for that” Severus said feeling his cheeks redden
“I know you wouldn’t. Could we read together on the couch and maybe cuddle?” Hermione asked nervously
“You just asked the mean potions master to cuddle?” Severus asked chuckling
“No I asked my boyfriend to cuddle” Hermione said winking as she jumped off his desk
“Lead the way then” Severus said watching her walk away
Hermione looked back as she walked, she found his eyes on her in a way she had never seen. It was as though he was finally allowing himself to look at her as a women and his other half rather then a student. She could feel his eyes on her ass, she shook her ass a little as she walked into his quarters. Severus wanted to touch her but he knew not to yet, soon he walked in behind her, he found her standing at the couch. She motioned for him to sit in the middle seat, nodding he banished his cloak and coat before undoing the top two buttons of his white shirt. Sitting down he watched her bite her lip before sitting on the seat to his left before swinging her legs over his lap. A mumbled cushioning charm on her back she got herself comfy as she watched him summon their books before getting comfortable. Hermione watched him closely, this was the best birthday she could ever ask for.
