Big East Honors 1st and 2nd Team (2024)

I nailed the first team and was close on the second team although I had foolishly omitted Jones when discussing a few possibilities for the last slot or two.

No real gripes with this list. If you wanted to swap Zegarowski and Marshall I'd have no issue with that but I think Marshall has been really good too and when you consider the supporting casts I can see why Marshall made it.

Love Q and glad he got honorable mention but have no issue with the kids chosen to first and second team being there instead of him.

Mamu just missed too much time, that's all. He would have made his way onto the team if he played more in conference.

Why I say that Steele, beside Leitoa, did the worst job of any coach in conference this year.

I had no issue with Diallo. I watch him sometimes and think he's wildly overrated and other times think he does so many things to fill the box score and help you win. He's the best player on the 4 seed. 14 points 8 rebounds per game and top 5 in the league in rebounds and steals.

Agree with you on the freshman team - I struggled to find names after the first 3. The two Nova kids are the cream of the crop and the Champaigne kid on SJU has been very good especially of late. After those 3 though.....

Agree completely. I have Zegarowski and Jones on the first team over Alexander and Marshall. I have Q on the second team over Diallo. Everything else I agree with the coaches.

All the missed games hurt him.

I think Alexander got it over Zegarowski based on the former's all around prowess, as I expect him to get BE DOY when that is announced later this week.

I am pretty sure it was Evan Daniels who ran a poll of BE coaches earlier on the conference season and Gill was the choice.
